On the nose, beautiful floral red & blue fruits. Black olive, pepper, crushed rocks and a touch of band aid. Lots of flavors for a leaner body Syrah. This is another example of Charles lightly handling his fruit and simply getting out of way of the good fruit. The fruits are a potpourri blue fruits & mixed dark berries. Soft understated delicate spice, dry rock powder, light pepper, purple florals and lean, rich, elegant fruit finish. Soft fruit, some bacon, smoked meat, & herbs. Not very complex. Lovely BBQ wine. Unlike many WA syrah, not an alcoholic fruit bomb. However, terrible QPR for the level of vinous complexity on offer.
