Basalt Block Hunter Valley Shiraz

Basalt block vineyard. Crazy high acid with blackberry, cranberry, and raspberry fruit. Clear and not overly extracted. Restrained for Shiraz.

Absolutely delicious.
Taste: smooth, iron-rich soil, spice-filled, strong earthiness on the back end.

Paired with orange chocolate truffle dessert, was an incredible pairing. Excellent wine for the price.

At $12 it is a great light weight drinker. Black Pepper and earthy, medium-light bodied

So first of all, I had a glass of this, it was very tight and had to leave it over night. Once I poured it the second night it was very intriguing. Starts with a heavy mechanical nose with very soft berries to finish. As it hits the palate you get a nice hints of cherry, pepper and minerals. Has a nice balanced finish with a tannin that likes to linger.

Smoky, rich flavor. Berry on the nose with smoke/balsamic? Dark cherry finish. This wine taste like meat.

Dark fruit, medium acidity, cherry aftertaste. Less kick and more medium bodied than the standard Shiraz. Would try again.
