The 2011 vintage is a blend of 54% Shiraz and 46% CS. This shows more red fruits than dark fruits, mingled with aromas of espresso, incense, black pepper, and violet. Very youthful with good depth and complexity. Very fine tannins. The green pepper note seemed to be a bit unforgiven - I usually don’t mind it at all. My first bottle from Henschke, and it was a good one.

A little young. Leave down a tad longer. Lighter body due to Cabernet sav component c. f. Shiraz alone. Dark fruit and light tannins suggested on label - agree; cherry and plumb? Nice mid-body wine. From memory, had the Mt Edelston Henschke at Quay, Sydney, and that was slightly fuller bodied and better rounded.
