Some serious structure here. Marshy brine, black tea, stone fruits and tobacco with silky smooooth tannins and substantial acidity.

Dark and masculine in the aroma, yet contradictory lightness on the palate. Volcanic ash, plum and jammed blackcurrants. On the palate, remarkably light and jovial, with darker blackberry prevailing. Finish is clean, I love the dichotomy and just so enjoyable and complex.

Enjoyed this in Nice in July, then again at Terrone in West LA. Dark purple, needs to open -- but when it does, you should be eating black truffles, broccoli rabe, and heavy pasta!
