2009. a warm, not outstanding vintage. langhe nebbiolo "only". well, once again nebbiolo surprised me, especially when crafted by a winery like rinaldi. the nose rises with full throttle: this is nebbiolo! bright red fruit, dried rose petals, iron & tar. in the palate the wine feels very silky and smooth. sour cherry, lots of orange zest, christmas spices & sweet tarry notes. building up a lot of power in the palate and ending up in an explosive finish. feels like a barolo and it's better than many 2009 i have had.
