Slightly bricky on the edge
It starts quite funky and porty
But it opens up, yes it does
The shades of complexity are numerous
Cherry and plum
Black pepper and incense
Cinnamon and aniseed, perhaps chestnuty
Mouth is of a soft velvet, ethereal, multidimensional
Super enjoyable and extra long
It vanished too quickly, but i am sure this is a kind of wine it would show even better the day after
Truly couldn't feel any of the 15.5% of alcohol..i actually have enjoyed them

Not quite as balanced and complex as the 2006, but plenty of character and fruit. This particular bottle probably would have been too evolved if opened in 2021.

Delicious, beautiful cherry aromas with a tinge of bitterness at the end typical for valpolicella. Half the grapes go through appasimento for 2 months, while the other half are pressed from fresh grapes.

Splendid, ya know? Acid out the wazoo. Developing cherry on the verge of a flowery perfumed death with old Italians smoking cigarettes because there's nothing more to say.

Black cherry and dried herbs. Full bodied. Great but high priced pizza wine. Hard not to be swayed by the romance of the name. Would I buy more? Yes. It is a wine that is of another time that is unfortunately disappearing

Never not a winner. Menthol, elegance, power, fruit intensity but lightness of body. Sensational.
