Deep ruby red. Muted and tight on the nose to start with an odd aroma that we cannot quite put our finger on. Notes of raw minerals, dust, savory, iron, recently used oak barrel, and a dark berry undertone. Has an aroma similar to some new 2016 barrel samples we just tried earlier in the month. Moderate tannins (6/10) and medium but grippy body. Boysenberry on the attack wrapped in savory undertones. Very dusty on the palate with light caramel in the finish. Dry and medium plus finish. Might just need some time to develop further. Drink from 2018 till 2025. (89+)
