A nice juicy, leaner Saumur-Champigny. Vinified and aged in stainless tank. On the nose, just-ripe raspberry and sour cherry, crushed graphite and pencil shavings, fresh green bell pepper, dried herbs, fresh rose petal, and a bit of brettanomyces. Palate is pretty much identical to the nose. Acid is medium (+), tannin is fine grained and of medium (+) intensity but in a way that kind of fools you at first into thinking it's lower; it kind of builds up slowly. Moderate body and weight with a silky texture. I'd drink this now, it's ready to go and won't benefit too much from further holding.

Nicely balanced, good fruit for a Cab Franc.

Medium body, medium tannins, more savory than fruit. Really delicious and interesting; smoky, meaty

Softer, less distinct progression from funk edged earthy green goodness to fresh fruit than the 2011. Still a good wine.
