Mar 9th, 2019This is excellent wine. It pours a true ruby red and has a lot of alcohol initially on the nose. It has flavors of cherry and other fruits. But it is also very dry which I found helped balance it. This was my first experience with Amarone; it reminded me a bit of Pinot noir but with several times the intensity. This is a big wine that drinks like an older more mature red. It was $17 at Trader Joe’s and an absolute steal.
