Very pleasantly surprised. Still wonderful balance of tannin, fruit & acidity. Telling that this was an Aussie Syrah (and not Shiraz). Can’t think of anything to detract (except that I had to share with two others).

Nov 11th, 2018Classic "big" Aussie notes of prune and Port, but with some interesting secondary aromatics. Minor (if any?) acidification. I dig it, even if I can really only have a glass.

Blind Tasting MOT=90
Color: Deep Purple
Nose: Like maple syrup and bacon, along with some berries
Palate: Syrup thickness
Opinion: Needs time too jammy and thick right now. needs to open up more

This was very interesting. Of course I had very high expectations! Came out of the gate a bit stewey. But evolved constantly over 3 hours. Still moderate plus tannins so I think this will be going the distance. Very interested to try again in a year or so.

absolutely delicious and subtle syrah! as a Northern Rhone, I’m usually not attracted to Aussies heavyweights... but this wine has so much finesse and flavours , I want more !

This is one of my favorite Shiraz wine from Australia. Paired with lamb and bone-instrip out of this world.
