Château Unang
Côtes du Ventoux Grenache Blend

In the old testament Moses sends two men forward to scout the promised land, they go and return carrying bunches of red grapes so large and god filled that they had to transport em hung unstemmed on a long pole carried on the shoulders of the two fellows. Proof they had been and seen the Promised Land ahead. If any grapes broke and that juice ran free down the pole and they, in their thirst, drank that broken juice, Chateau Unang was what it tasted like.

Still loving this wine. Solid value with a more fruit forward style that’s an easy everyday drinker

Mar 7th, 2018Nom nom. Big raspberry jam nose with that French earthiness, a touch of clean leather, and maybe the slightest suggestion of a menthol lift. If you can get past enjoying the aroma, you'll find a soft warm front end, chalky and chewy tannins, just enough acid to keep it from being too sweet, and a savor-able finish of warm jam and some oaky caramelized sugar. The low acid and richness smack of age, but the tannins grip like youth--the only ding, and it's not even a complaint, it just leaves no aging potential. Right now it is delicious--richness of a $30 bottle, for $17! Thanks for the glass Dave!
