The 04 is in it's last few years of a quality drinking stage. It's showing signs of oxidation. However, it is interesting to drink wine on it's elder side showing the end of it's quality evolutional change. The nose upon opening is stone fruit, pineapple, oxidative apple and crushed minerals. It's mouthfeel is thick & waxy. Fruits are; oxidative red & green apples, stone fruits, pineapple and citrus zest. There's a touch of marmalade, beeswax, citrus blossoms, soft grainy minerals that grip your tongue, acid is mellowed from age and the finish is decent but it does fade after 12 to 15 seconds. Nice wine but likely richer 3 years ago. Grillet was purchased by Chateau Latour in 2011.

Wonderfully aromatic. Delicate white flowers and peaches. Textured but balanced, and fairly intense flavors. Terrific stuff

Oak, pear, apricot. Sadly the oak is the most dominant characteristic.

2004 is amazing. Best Grillet (& Viognier) I have had. Insane balance, poise, grace, length. Blows away 99% of condrieu I have had
