I think I have written on this one before. very few times in my life has a wine taken my breath away like this one. It was a great feeling to know that such events can still happen. Maybe it was the fact that we were in Rioja Alavesa in the first place, but it was something more. First off, the color and texture are perfect. Deep dark violet and a thick silky swirl. Then the nose only hints at the wonder to come. Once it hits your tongue, it is like a velvet glove as it rolls across and touched all corners of your senses. Fruit, sweet tanin, fruit again and a long smooth finish. Nicely done! I have packed my suitcase with a few bottles and now I’m back in the states, trying to find the importer.
