Very dark purple-red in colour. The nose is clearly new-world with rich fruit compote and eucalyptus.
Medium bodied with medium + tannins and low acidity. Palate is more subdued than the nose with cassis, licorice and subtle spice and meat. Low alcohol feel.
Benefitted from airing considerably. Recommend a decanter and standing time. Would pair well with steak, burgers, oily fish and heavy pastas. Would be interesting with further age.

Closed initially, give this one at least an hour of air before drinking. Rich and weighty on the palate, with good balance of tannin, alc, and acidity. This was great with food, but also to savor on its own after dinner. The finish is long and memorable.
