My WOTN. Goodness, this was incredible. Inky purple/black in the glass. Aromas were intoxicating...bacon fat, Texas smoked brisket, blackberry pie. The palate was smoke and velvet. Blue and black fruits coat your mouth. Tannins completely integrated. Lengthy and lip smacking good finish. If you have any, two things: drink up, and donโ€™t forget to send me one!

I was surprised there was enough acid to keep this alive but here it was, a giant PR Syrah that was holding its own. Still enough acid to keep the structure intact but definitely time to drink up.

Black as a starless night, big aromatic characteristic Alban nose. Scorched earth, tar, a little burnt rubber. And I mean that in the best way possible. Also notes of camphor and a touch of bacon fat. Black fruit parade. Texture is pure velvet. Super rich, super concentrated, endless finish. John Alban at his best. A toast and a birthday shoutout to my friend @Bill Bender . And many more my friend.
