Old undergrowth and barnyard nose pulls you in then a melted array of beef blood, iron and Provençal spice takes over. At its apogee, long finish, just a whisper of heat. Old, great CdP kicks ass, again, but with one of those fluffy slippers (no steel toes!)

Feb 5th, 2021Overwhelmed by Rhone barnyard funk last year, this time blew off ~80 mins. Rich and sappy but light acidity still there to balance. Cedar and oak infused with cherry and cranberry extract. Nicely soft now - get past the funk, it's a gem!

Just recently learned about these wines, GSM's, in Walla Walla. Tranche had an amazing GSM chateaneuf du pape -style wine.
