Lunch @ Montmartre, French bistro near Eastern Market. Washington D.C. 🇺🇸 — 7 years ago
It’s been another long day of landscaping and I’ve been looking forward to a glass of Champagne all day. Sofia says, “she favors the Ruinart Rosé over Billecart-Salmon Rosé.” So, we’ll be working this in a little more often. They are both very good. I think she likes the Ruinart Rosé better as the fruits are more ripe, richer, bolder. The black cherries, strawberries & cherries are certainly more pronounced over the Billecart. 375ml. — 8 years ago
Drank this at a crazy lunch at Guy Savoy in Paris and will never forget it. Such a fleshy fruity memorable bottle. — 9 years ago
From either the 3rd largest co-op in the world or in Europe. I think it's in Europe. Produttori is located in the heart of the tiny town of Barbaresco just to the right of the tower shown in the photo and up the street from Gaja. Also, one of the best Michelin stared restaurants for lunch we've ever had. As well, the best restaurant service we have experienced and it wasn't that pricey. For such large a co-op, they produce some outstanding value wines and some straight up excellent wines. This 09 is quite nice and one of their entry level value wines. A nice pair with my skillet lasagna. The wine shows more sour than sweet dark cherries, black raspberries, dry dark plums, touch of pouched strawberries, black cherry cola, dry dark florals bouquet, a light delicate herbaceous quality, dark soils with dry powdery crushed rocks with nice acidity. The balance of fruit & earth is improving as is the finish. It still needs at least 3-5 more years in bottle. Very nice wine under $30. A 9.0 on it's own with the skillet lasagna, 9.1-9.2. — 9 years ago

Not a rose fan but I like this one. Tart up front but then a smooth finish. Pretty color. Perfect warm weather lunch wine. — 10 years ago
A fantastic day in Santa Clara! Enjoying this wonderful wine with lunch before seeing the Rolling Stones at Levi Stadium.. A blueberry dark cherry on the nose. The dark fruits, floral and spice burst in the mouth lingering with cassis, chocolate and vanilla notes. Medium finish and a beautiful dark purple color. — 7 years ago
wonderfully chalky, round even though very young. Perfect lunch wine with homemade charcuterie — 8 years ago
This was again tasted on New Years Eve and next day, a stunning experience to drink this fantastic wine at lunch, again pricy stuff, but in my world the best Rosé🥂 — 8 years ago
1999 Gianfranco Soldera Riserva Brunello. Lunch at T w Roger S and BP. Drank alongside the '99 Insignia. Decanted this wine ~30 min. We think this was an off bottle. Thin, high acid, no finish. Too bad. — 9 years ago

Magnum 1975 Heitz Martha's Vineyard. Drank at Archetype lunch w B&K K, J&L B, and M&R H. First of the red lineup. Couldn't believe how this wine held up despite its age. Still had fruit on the nose and a long finish. Really balanced and in perfect shape. — 10 years ago
Mid Lemon in colour. Stone fruits on nose and palate. The big peaches and cream style. A typical delicious Leeuwin Art Series palate of profound intensity with Oak playing a supporting role to the abundant ripe fruits. Medium minus acid. A big generous Art Series Chardonnay which went well with fresh prawns. I think I would need to drink the remaining 3 in the next 18 months. Had another bottle with friends for lunch 9 weeks later on 16th November. All agreed this was the white wine of the day marginally from the 1998 Lovedale. — 7 years ago
Gorgeous. Big, round with lush fruit and lactic notes. Barrel fermented, partial malo w/French Oak. — 7 years ago
Medium gold, heavy and viscous in the glass. Classic aged Raveneau nose with stone, honey, apricot, white clay and a little spice. With 3 hrs of air this blossomed and had full on fruit and acidity that fought to see what wins. It was a draw and My lunch mates were the winners. I think this is still in a good spot but I don't think it will get better; enjoy it now. — 8 years ago
Another weekly wine Committee lunch that I was able to attend, hosted by @Weston Eidson & @Colby Siratt . Excellent job, fellas! All wines tasted blind as usual.
Wow! Not only was this my red of the day, it was the wine of the day. The nose on this, whether it was where it was placed in the line up or just the American Oak, was profound. A wine that I would be ok only smelling. Coconut and dill on the nose. Very silky textured on the palate, with Mexican vanilla and a kick of blackberries. Fantastic! — 9 years ago
Out of sheer jealousy at my friends in Vegas I'm having a decent CDP tonight.....the Princeton Jaegar girl in the background is really working the room. For a 2009 this telegraphe is showing really well (although that might be a horse racing term), which is cool as the 2007s still seem a bit in the intermediate phase. Nice plum, liquorice, leather......great structure and a really subtle menthol finish......love these wines. — 9 years ago
2005 DRC Grand Echezeaux burgundy. Lunch at the house w various guests. Young, but great. Really enjoyed it. Such a treat! — 10 years ago

If somebody can find a better way to finish lunch then this, please let me know! A perfect balance of cooked apricots and honey. As usual, the crème brûlée didn’t hurt us at all either! — 6 years ago
