Lovely nose of cherry, strawberry and a hint of rose petals. Well structured red and black fruit with a cola backbone on the palate. Moderate plus and consistent acid from start to long finish. This is a big but disciplined Pinot that falls somewhere between a California and Burgundy style. — 8 years ago

Magnum. Initially a 93 rating and then falls apart after 1.5 hours and becomes an 89. Lovely, classic , delicate, herbal Bordeaux. Rich and balanced initially and then declines rapidly. Very sad. — 9 years ago
My new favorite riesling. Dry enough to go well with sushi (and much better than any sake). — 10 years ago

2010. SENSATIONAL! Wotn. Typical nose yet the changes and depth were amazing, some complained the leather and gamey aroma fell in love with its red fruit at the end. Elegant is the word at palate. Firm tannin, soothing, falls bit short finishing. Buy. — 10 years ago

Great up front and mid palate. Falls off on the finish. I just think this needs time to fully integrate. — 8 years ago

Very light and smooth. I would buy it again. — 10 years ago
2008. Dried cherry, black tea, dried mushroom and rose, prosciutto. Minerality is reminiscent of standing on a dry, dusty dirt road. Only criticism is that it falls off in the mid palate, but finishes with a nice gamey note. — 11 years ago

Second wine at Great Falls Wine Outlet this Friday and second Skipstone. Deep garnet red. A little savory on the nose with some earthiness, tobacco, animal nuances, plums, and spices. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and full bodied. A bit bigger than the 2005 but not as integrated. Dark plums on the palate with some floral notes and crushed gravel. Long and lingering finish. Definitely has potential to improve. Drink till 2025. (92+)
