Gorgeous nose. Fresh mowed grass. Peach, apricot, minerals and some vulcanized rubber. Very petty. Amazing how sugar changes the whole equation. Nose gains depth and breadth as it airs out. Palate is lights out with unreal fresh layers of fruit, peach, apricot and white peach. Nose gets more evocative and blends limestone and vineyard peach. Such a summer wine. And likely great with food. Dense, light, nimble and just the right amount of barely there sweetness. Outstanding. — 5 years ago

Quite rich & powerful with ripe pomelo and green grapefruit, lemon tart and some matchstick reduction. Fullbodied with the wood nicely integrated, good lemony acidity and nice length with a flinty finish. Needs some time to aerate so large burgundy glasses are a must. — 8 years ago

The future of sparkling wine is here. Chardonnay on limestone but in Saulheim. Unreal nose. Wow. Deep notes of green apple, butter, earth and minerals. So ebullient and expressive. This totally smells German but still has a foot in Champagne. Some notes of lime blossom emerge as well with air. This is like a $60 Champagne nose. Palate is awesome. Full of sweet lime fruit and very lemony and super crisp. Such cut and precision. Awesome chewiness and density while remaining light on its feet. It’s a very mineral wine. It almost seems Brut Nature but it’s classified as Brut. — 2 years ago

Located in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, the ‘Schindler Vineyard’ is a very small site planted to Pinot Noir and set on marine sedimentary soils. A light whiff of salinity runs through the nose with kirsch and peat moss aromas that all meld in the glass. The palate has good freshness and energy with bright reed fruits that dance with shades of blood orange and minerals. The seductive mineral and dark fruit driven finish lingers long on the palate. Confectionary nose that is teeming with energy. Awesome minerals, sugar snap peas and airiness. So clean and intense. Awesome. Has that 19 lift. Rich, yet also so energetic and crisp. Has terrific fruit intensity like apricot and kumquat but finished mineral and shows its limestone footprint. So good.
