Amber Orange in the glass, cinnamon and the charred oak barrel on the nose, warm caramel, vanilla, cinnamon maybe. Not overly long but pretty damn smooth. It's an easy quaff on a cold San Diego night 😂. A lot of oak showing--it doesn't bother me but I can see where some purists will take issue with it and I did mark it down a little for it's "woodiness". Had this neat last time but enjoying it more with a cube. — 9 years ago
Super smooth, easy drinking Malbec. Lighter taste than some others I've had, but this also means it pairs well with... well, I'll drink it with just about anything! I also love the cube for its convenience and value. It's not the most *aesthetic* choice but it sure is delicious. — 10 years ago
It needed about 10 minutes once you pour to open. Then you sniff and get some caramel and vanilla. Taste is first mild oaky, with a hard rush of hot, fire, spice when you swallow. Mild vanilla finish. Then add a quick squirt of water and you experience less oak but with some ashe at first that leads to less spice and a finish of dark cherry. Then added an ice cube and boom made it even more delicious. The oak was mild, with a happy medium of spice and cool with fruity, toasted caramel finish. — 10 years ago
Perfect with a cube of ice. — 10 years ago
Amazing experiment of terroir and three incredible winemakers. Loved Andrew of Bouchaine's take on Lindsay's Vineyard. This is a fun and delicious Pinot. — 11 years ago
Surprisingly good for a box wine! Sweet and flavorful — 12 years ago
Arguably my favorite scotch. Definitely a go to for a nice dinner party but I only break it out if I like ya! Peaty but smooth and really opens up with a big ice cube swimming around in it for a bit. — 9 years ago
This is a great scotch. Neat it is average. But add a single cube of ice and the flavor changes so drastically in the best way. — 9 years ago
Hotter'n hell. Ice cube recommended. Should be great in a cocktail. I need to restock my sweet vermouth. — 10 years ago
High proof, really opens up with one cube. Excellence! — 10 years ago
First wine back from Japan. Unctuous and bright. — 10 years ago
Nice summer sipper. Light and crisp, but a smidge too much residual sugar for me, but an ice cube or soda water solves that! — 11 years ago
Best wine for such price) — 12 years ago
2010 was a great vintage for Francois to break out. Clean, precise lines with silky texture. Picture a cube inside a sphere. — 12 years ago
Weingut Groebe Aulerde GG '12(est. 1763) with Conecuh County, AL whitetail venison cube steaks smothered in mushroom reduction. My first experience with Groebe(finally); thank you Manhattan Wine Company. Across the road from Weingut Wittmann. More elegant and not quite as ripe, rich, and concentrated as Wittmann or Keller. While arguably not quite as dynamic as aforementioned, a delicious compliment through meal and priced more attractively.AP# 17 — 9 years ago
Omg. So sherry. Very molasses and spice. Beautiful. Dash of cold water or single ice cube is best. 5yr anniversary pressie — 9 years ago
Bouillon cube and spices. Shows great and still young — 10 years ago
3 star Ron del Barrilito. Great PR rum, tasted with a large ice cube (which I normally drink straight). Satisfying texture, smoky but not overpowering the rum flavors, distinctive taste of molasses in this one. — 10 years ago
Served with lemon and possibly an ice cube. — 10 years ago
Had both the Barrel 1 and Barrel 5! Hot, but delicious when cut with an ice cube — 11 years ago
Mofo cube first bottle - not bad for $9 — 11 years ago
