Really nice. Pleasantly complex, but insanely drinkable. Want more, but I'm sure I won't find any. — 10 years ago
Super delicious drop! Mike Symons (GM/Winemaker) was gracious enough to give me a tour of his operation and cracked this beauty open when we got back to the tasting room. — 10 years ago

Their Pinot paired with Maple Brined Seared Pork Tenderloin, Garden Vegetables and Hunter's Sauce.
Lot’s plum, big dark cherries, cranberries, blackberries and hues of blue fruits, light smoke, black licorice and soft woven baking spices. Blue & dark fresh red florals.
The body is medium with raining acidity. More blue fruits hues on the palate. plum, big dark cherries, cranberries, bolder blackberries on the palate and hues of blue fruits, light smoke, black licorice and soft woven baking spices. Limestone & volcanic minerals, touch of rich dark soils, Blue & dark fresh red florals. Certainly not my favorite wine of theirs bit, it is enjoyable.

I like it! — 7 years ago
It may have just been a good day or it may have been a really good bottle of wine. But this Syrah is really enjoyable. A little more blackberry than blueberry to me. Touch of pepper and licorice add to the beautiful finish. There is not a lot of this made and you owe it to yourself to try it before it is gone. #saarloosandsons #syrah #ballardcanyon #fatmanterrace #winestagram — 7 years ago
Not a typical CA Pinot, has the nose and finish of an earthy Oregon Pinot but the mouth feel of a fruity CA pinot. I'm going to have to find more of this! — 8 years ago

The 2014 Mattaison Napa Valley Rosé is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, and Counoise from the Windmill Vineyard. I love this wine because what it communicates is restraint and tensile minerality as one would find in a good Provence rosé. Delicate floral aromas, slightly underripe white peaches, and white hand soap lend dimension to a lithe frame that has a subtle and demure touch of creaminess in the background. White plum skins and pie cherries crescendo before slowly unwinding. 11.2% ABV | Sample — 10 years ago

The third wine of the evening this past Saturday was the 2014 Saarloos & Sons Jongen Windmill Ranch Estate Grenache. This was my particular favorite but all three that night were splendid.
The nose gives notes of black cherry, blackberry, light tobacco, vanilla, floral notes, spice and earth.
On the palate there was black cherry, raspberry, a bit of strawberry, black currant, licorice, allspice, herbal notes and a good earth component.
The wine is fleshy medium to full bodied with medium + acidity and high grippy tannins that lead to a long fruit filled finish. Enjoy your start of the weekend and please be safe. — 7 years ago

On the nose; perfumed floral, fruits of; dark currants, blackberries, black raspberries, plum, dark cherries, black licorice, vanilla, caramel, dark chocolate, light green pepper, sweet, rich dark earth and fresh & withering mixed dark floral bouquet.
The body is full, rich, elegant and smooth. The acidity of the soup plays well into the wine. The fruits are rich, lush and slightly candied. Blackberries, black raspberries, plum, dark cherries, black licorice, vanilla, caramel, dark chocolate, light green pepper, sweet, rich dark earth and fresh & bright, withering mixed dark floral bouquet. The finish well polished and lasts a full minute.
