One of favorite boutique Napa winery - decanted 2 hours - love the 09, 10 and 12 - not tried the 13 yet - singing in prefect pitch - color is deep red and stunning, smell is intoxicating, taste is with every sip reminding me to smile and the finish is damn right runway model sexy - in honor of @Carl Fischer and the amazing Christmas carol story last night and as a tribute to all delectable folks including the WNH gang - my 2nd seasonal posting is an adaption from Home Alone 2 - "hold it right there - and you respond by saying "this is wine drinkers everywhere" - I say knew it was you as I could smell you near my cellar - you were at my cellar last night and You been drinking with everybody and not always smiling - you been drinking with "Snuffy. Al. Leo. Moe, with the gimpy leg. Cheeks. Boney Bob, Cliff" - you say "I am mistaken and have been not drinking with everybody and when you drink your wine you do smile" - so I say I believe you but tommy gun don't so I going to give to the count of three to pour a glass of wine and start smiling one two and wait you are smiling so keep smiling and Merry Christmas you wine drinking animals!!!! — 8 years ago
Really enjoyable Malbec. Ripe blueberry with some nice oak that does not overpower. Delicious. — 10 years ago
This very — VERY— dry Alsatian style Riesling from 40+ year old vines is a fantastic food wine. It’s loaded with bracing acidity that is incredibly well integrated into pear, lychee, grapefruit, and minerals. Beautiful gold color with a nose full of canned peach and wet stone. I wish it wasn’t the last of my allocation, especially since Bedrock seems to have stopped producing it after the 2019 vintage. — 9 months ago
So good! Buy again. $12 at Brookshires — 3 years ago
Dinner with friends, prior notes still apply.
A Burgundy bin end theme for my bottles tonight, all are the last stock of the wines that have given us great pleasure in the prior 12-18mo. They will be missed, but not forgotten, new vintages will come eventually. 🤩 — 5 years ago
This wine is in a GOOD spot right now. CT Average of about 93, and I'd say that this is about right. 93-95 as this one still has probably 7-8 years before it is pop and pour. Acidic at the opening, but the patience (which we didn't have) would have served us well. Cabernet power from the front. Blackberry preserves, hint of mint, white pepper, hint of clove, middle that goes a little bit herbal, but still very considerable black fruit. Finishes strong, with pepper, spice. I know the last 750 I have is in danger, and hopefully I can also lay off the mag for at least a couple of years. — 7 years ago
Drinking well. Dark fruit, tannins softening. Long dusty finish — 9 years ago
Soft and elegant. Drinking nicely in 2016 though would have been better 10 years ago — 9 years ago

Currently about 5 hours east of Melbourne in east Gippsland tasting this brilliant William Downie Pinot Noir. See several previous Delectable notes from earlier vintages. This wine manages to combine light to medium weight with medium plus intensity. Red fruited with Sous Bois. Downie is a gifted winemaker working in an excellent terroir for Pinot Noir. Would like to have more access to his wines up in Queensland. — a year ago
