On the palate this is surprisingly tight and focussed, and very mineral, as well!
A smoky, sweaty, stony foundation give this wine quite a masculine and serious feel. Oh. And it’s dry. 👍🏻

Dark inky red color. Perfumed nose of roses, hibiscus tea, cherry schnapps, and leather. Flavor is full bodied and slightly savory. Some plumy streaks balanced by cedar and spice. Hint of sweet green olives. Black licorice as well. Plenty of tannin. For 11 year old Syrah this could probably age for another 4 or 5 before it peaks. A deep, rich wine with balance and complexity. Soft, suave and elegant. This is very charming and complex. Lovely kerosene and pear-schnapps, mossy rocks, old foudres, spicy fruit notes. An airy, light, classic, nervous Spätlese, not too sweet which is important IMHO.
