Whistlepig Boss Hog. Nose is mostly booze and baking spices. Honestly can't differentiate from the 10 year based solely on nose. Taste is incredibly complex. Heavy spice up front with some sticky plastic. Incredibly layered the rest of the way. Corn biscuit then citrus, honeydew, cantaloupe. Grass, very fresh grass. Numbness in my mouth. Much like when I taste the olde chap. Finally, honey and berry. Best rye I've ever tasted. — 10 years ago
Wow. Good stuff — 8 years ago
What a big, hefty rye. At 120 proof it packs a punch, but the texture is smooth for something that hot. Vanilla, butterscotch, and cigar are all folded together on the palate with a classic rye nutty-grain finish. Beautiful--and I'm not usually a fan of straight ryes! — 10 years ago

Had a chance to taste this 10 year aged single barrel Rye at work and let me tell ya..unique and friggin delicious. A Rye that is aged 10 years in a repurposed bourbon barrel, giving it corn mash like feel, and vanilla caramel notes, still with that characteristic Rye fire and spice, and this single barrel is the first cask strength they've done, rounding up at 117 proof! For that ABV, it is incredibly smooth, and the finish sticks around for like 5 minutes. — 9 years ago

Simply phenomenal. A Rye to seek out. Painfully smooth and glides down like butter. A 3 blend rye aged in Madeira/Sauternes/Port casks...the majority in Madeira. As for the painting it is a work from Todd Marinovich himself who is the protagonist here 🖕🏽 and a guy who many of my friends went to school with at SC. He’s been a tool a good part of his life but who knows what signposts dictate a man’s life path. His Dad’s approach to parenting is a cautionary tale for sure. I hope he’s turned it around. His painting cracked me up last night, I know that. — 7 years ago
