Se avessi avuto 1000 stelle le avrei usate tutte ! in assoluto il miglior vinsanto mai bevuto. un colore ambra bellissimo, profumo intenso incredibile, limpido, trasparente e brillante. una bocca dove freschezza e morbidezza sono perfettamente equilibrate. l'entrata è una carezza morbida e l'uscita e di una pulizia unica con una persistenza lunghissima. miele vaniglia nocciole....sono pochi i vini dolci a questo livello ! — 10 years ago

Bolla fine, abbondante e cremosa, naso intenso ed elegante con note caratteristiche di limoni maturi, lieviti, fragoline acerbe e un leggero balsamico perfettamente integrato. In bocca scorre con un grande equilibrio, un corpo medio e una buona persistenza. Il dosaggio lo aiuta ad equilibrare una freschezza ancora importante. Kicking back letting the local tunes adjust my attitude with wine:30 showing on the clock she strolls in my direction digging the slow roll Hendrix spinning left then twisting right dressed in deep purple clinging and flowing interestingly crimson along her rim and edges back to casually claret whispering that she's from a small chateau hanging on the right bank of the Gironde near Arveyres. Offering her hand, I accept pulling her in close then a slow spin and a slower twirl she comes close bathed in the essence of blackberry and spice, young but ripe, wet earthy slowly working her way to a first kiss dripping then gripping, pulling tightly then going soft and silky still clinging while working her way deeper. I close my eyes, Hendrix stops and she's gone. A distant guitar string bends an unknown player. I spot her by the bar, her colors waving in the breeze of a lazy fan I reach out take her firmly by the neck, then lower bending her gently back then spinning her my way, she again engages, her essence lingering in my memory, we dance on as the tunes continue their spin. Later, when we are both done I figure she's likely a fine Merlot brightened by Cab Franc having found her way through new French oak nestled by the river, intelligently nuanced well worth the dance and cost is not an issue...

Fiori di tiglio, camomilla, agrumi, foglia di the, leggere note ossidative e burrose, assolutamente armonico e sontuoso, pomposo e tagliente in continua evoluzione dove anche qui la retro domina la gioia percettiva. — 10 years ago

2013 Shafer one point five cabernet sauvignon from the Stags Leap district of coarse! Well, perfection dad and son! John and Doug, you guys have mastered it. The cork was in perfect condition. After a 45 min eternity of time for decanting, the color is as dark as the night sky on a stormy night in the hills of Tennessee. The legs are slow and thick. The bouquet is peppered cranberry juice with a twist of rip figs growing on the tree. The initial palate is reminiscent of buttered toast and blackberry jam. There is a hint of spice and black pepper. On the finish which is very long, I detect black coffee and dark chocolate - not the Dove version, but the bitter version. There is an fired oaky wood flavor with a blast of a maduro cigar! The finish is very dry and if I don't get a sip of water soon My tongue my shrivel up. But I need another sip first!

Here is a toast to the Shafer family and to my wonderful and beautiful Dayanara on our new home!

Intenso e con un bouquet ricco di fiori e frutta, una mineralità sorprendente figlia del vulcano che lo alleva, 15% in grande equilibrio grazie alla freschezza viva e alla sapidità. Ottima la retro, lunga e intensa dove un bel pompelmo maturo lascia la bocca piacevole. Morbido e elegante può essere usato a tutto pasto con soddisfazione e chissà fra un po' di tempo che non regali soddisfazioni aumentando la complessità. — 10 years ago
