This CDR is comprised of 63% Grenache and 37% Syrah. Made from fruit grown in the village of Valreas, where its north+west facing vineyards on the high slopes above the valley floor balance the dark berry flavors with a certain elegance.
The Stiffler's mom of wine, thick, busty but with an alluring finesse. — 7 years ago
Mid ruby with a bouquet of meaty red berry fruit. Dry with supple tannins and the ripe juicy fruit complemented by a touch spice. A gem. — 8 years ago
Beautiful dark berry fruit well balanced drinking superbly — 8 years ago
Good, murky raspberry, bramble fruit mix up on the nose with a diligent touch of saddle leather and elegant farm yard (reminds me of muddy chocolate). In the mouth there are plenty of juicy, ripe red berry fruits plenty of fresh acidity and a spiced red fruit finish — 9 years ago
Ripe fresh red berry fruit upfront, hint of spice and smooth finish, had with porterhouse steak and matched perfectly — 9 years ago
Two up, Two down as they say in VA. This wine blew my mind in that I had no idea VA produced anything this good. Tannins were still present, but not overwhelming. Bright Berry fruit on the tongue and a very deep nose. Medium color. A great wine to lead the charge for VA winemaking. — 9 years ago
Great quoffer, better the 2nd night, smooth tannins, good red berry fruit — 10 years ago
Notes of mulberry cedar and tomato leaf. Medium + bodied with a hint of Capsicum amongst the restrained berry fruit. A nice balance between savoury and fruit characters all blended into a more restrained style with trademark Margaret River herbaceousness. A long future in front of it. — 6 years ago
Great as a dessert wine or a mixer with standard bar drinks. — 7 years ago
Nice berry fruit. Soft tannins with an interesting nutty finish. — 8 years ago
Love this wine and it's one of our favorite go to wines. The 2013 is just as good as previous vintages we have enjoyed. Deep dark Ruby color, with lots of dark berry fruit and toast notes. Full bodied with light tannins and short medium finish. Delicious and great value! — 8 years ago

Lovely red current wine you can defiantly taste the currents. Not super sweet but delectable perfect for pairing with cheese and fruit — 6 years ago
Moderate ruby in color with aromas of cherry and licorice with hints of violets and cured meat. Wild berry fruit and spice evident on the palate with bright acidity and fine grained tannins notable at the finish. 50/50 blend of organically farmed Grenache and Syrah aged in neutral oak and sourced from the little known Côtes du Vivarais AOC on the west bank of the Rhône. Imported by Kermit Lynch. 13.5% alcohol. $29. — 6 years ago
Great dessert wine and mixer for standard bar drinks. — 7 years ago
I have tasted many of the top wines made on the east coast, these guys while new have made a tremendous impact in such a short time period.
This bottle was better than the last, especially getting time to savor it over a few hours.
If you are in the DC area or traveling through head an hour west and check out @rdvvineyards in the Middleburg AVA of northern Virginia.
More Merlot in the blend here offers an earlier approachability for a superb wine that has a plush core of deep red fruits, plum, graphite, purple florals, cocao and toast. A refined structure that frames the plush and pleasing fruit component well, it then transitions well into a contrast of energetic and persistence on the elegant, but deeply finish. The mid palate on this is insane, so deep and pure!

One of the great vintages in Margaret River. This excellent Cabernet had leafy herbal notes. Medium bodied and a great Cabernet in any company. One minor whinge was a slight lack of cassis berry fruit. I know it is 15 years old but great Bordeaux has it. — 8 years ago
Full hit of fruit on the nose, a vanilla-berry blend. Silky smooth on the tongue that lingers like a full kiss. Just a gorgeous wine, my favorite so far. Gets overpowered by strong cheese and food. Enjoy on its own on a nice romantic evening. 2012 vintage. — 9 years ago
Good red berry fruit, soft tannins and round finish — 9 years ago
Red berry and subtle spice savouriness. Very bright fruit in balance with the acid. Very fresh and juicy, can't get enough! Great tannin structure and length. Yet another great value wine in the range well done @Gavin Berry ! — 9 years ago
A vibrant and elegant red; full of black berry fruit. Delicious. — 10 years ago

2014 vintage tasted in 11/2018. Dark purple with a bright crimson rim. Very pleasantly pungent aromas of red cherries, smoke, and pepper, something sweetly herbal like freshly crushed sassafras leaves. As it sits in the glass it reveals a softer, rich, cedar-like aroma. A bouquet of impressive depth and complexity. Vibrant acid from the tart red fruit, tannins are young and generous. Roughly 80% cab sauv, with 20% merlot. Modest 12.5% alcohol but don’t let that fool you. This is concentrated, very fragrant, and explosively tasty wine. World class for sure and a wonderful juxtaposition to the ripeness commonly associated with its west-coast counterparts. This is Virginia first-growth if there is such a thing. — 6 years ago
