@Delectable Wine this is the 2011 Weninger Sopron. 35% Kefrankos (Blaufrankisch), 34% Merlot, 27% Pinot Noir, 4% Cab Franc. Distinctive & fresh blend with a vibrant structural interplay. Weninger makes wine in both Austria & Hungary. This is from the Hungarian vineyards. — 10 years ago
Delicious, once aired; very smooth and fruity - 2011 vintage — 11 years ago
Superb! well aged and very similar to Bordeaux in style — 11 years ago
Chrystal purple clarity and brightness. The youngest vines of the bunch (11 yr), so so so elegant and radical! — 13 years ago
Tastes like a Weninger Blaufränkisch, but is made from Mencia and Palomino. Great stuff, luv it! — 8 years ago

Really like this. Tart red fruit maybe a touch floral. Great acid/tannin combo. Fun to drink. — 11 years ago
Earth, spice and gobs of red fruit for $15? Brilliant & perky #Portugieser from #Hungary! — 11 years ago
So fresh out the box! Bright and clean, really carries the blend: Cab lead, merlot and blaufrankish so very elegant for being lead by the big dogs — 13 years ago
Gracefully aged Blaufränkisch from Hungarian earth. Wonderful nose with dried red berries, underbrush, licorice and red currant. Still a lovely acidity, soft fully integrated tannins. The Barrique maturation is not noticeable. Franz Weninger is now slowly reducing the oak treatment in all his wines. Mainly using big, used old casks. Can't wait till the now actual wines are in the age window of this Steiner. The 2013 Steiner from slate soil is also a stunner. — 9 years ago
Medium body, spice and sandalwood on the nose. Mineralogy and red fruit. — 10 years ago
