Very dark rubi robe, no signs of 18 year old. From a half bottle which is remarquable. Notes of flowers and spices, medium bodied, balanced, great acidity and fruit. One of the last vintages before JF Mugnier took it back. Great stuff ! — 5 years ago

Another scorching day, another record temperature falls. Still too hot to go red and I wanted to rock a nice Cabernet. Well...not yet. A little Sauvignon Blanc to battle the heat. And, a warm up to next weeks JP party. On the nose; jasmine, green apple, lemon, lime, pineapple, honey notes, bees wax, soft volcanic minerals and yellow florals. The fruits on the palate are not as pronounced as they are on the nose. Great QPR, the Delas Saint-Joseph François de Tournon Rouge 2011 displays baritone aromas of ripe plums, reduced blackberries, anise, wet embers, fruit cake and a a billowing smoky undertow on opening. It's equally glorious in the mouth, I especially like the interplay of tannins and acidity. It's well defined, black fruit bolstered by cedar and Garrigue, I'm enjoying it on its own, certainly, it has the potential to age over the next decade or so. Highly recommended. — 10 years ago

Love the acid and style of this wine. Didn't quite stand up against the richer wines in this flight, but again it's is own animal. Lots of carbonic character. Day two it lost that primary effervescence and showed much more weight on the palate. Definitely the outlier in the group. Would like to see this with at least 5 years of age. — 10 years ago
