Drinking with Kurt on the balcony on a humid August night. Yummy. High alc, nice minerals. Low tannins, nice acid that balances nicely agsinst the fruit. — 8 years ago

Baked pineapple, super ripe nectarine, a little creamy custard, orange flowers, red papaya, passion fruit, quince, candied ginger, candied pink grapefruit, confected mint. Unmistakably good Scheu-iness and good length on the finish. Can't wait to see where this goes over the next few years/decade! — 10 years ago
Mr Kurt my town(Aspen) resident shared it with us. Lovely. I do think last years was more exciting, — 10 years ago
Amazing, delicious and smooth — 11 years ago

Samling 88 is the most delicious of guilty pleasures. For me, it needs to be Spatlese to blossom but always a joy to have in the glass. Could drink every day and is a must in warm weather. The most delicious crossing ever — 8 years ago
Opening night of the Bastion, patron selected, five course, back room restaurant in Nashville. Feeling very privileged and fortunate to be under the guidance of sommelier extraordinaire Chelsea and the staff of passionate chefs behind the round with Josh at the helm. I am not popping my collar but I have been lucky enough to have purely memorable meals in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Italy, France, and in the US. Bastion, with praise, lands on my Olympic podium of memorable meals. Visit soon. I see only 22 seats in the room. — 9 years ago
White collar prison would be a pretty good gig if you could ship yourself cases of this shit. Didn't make me see Jesus, but it was tasty. — 10 years ago

At Dreadnought, Basic class I, 4/8/15. Medium color, fragrant aroma of peach, very balanced acid and sweetness, fruity flavor, medium body and very pleasant finish. Excellent wine, would be great sipping wine. — 11 years ago
This wine is so fragrant and inviting. I want to drink it all day long. This wine is quite dry and has a nice acidic finish. — 11 years ago

2016 vintage. Very tropical. Brûleed pineapple, baked yellow apple, quince paste, banana, fried plantain, honeysuckle, prendre blossom, white lokum, yellow papaya. Good sweetness-acid balance, though a touch less acid than a lot of Riesling equivalents. — 7 years ago
German Pinot. Definitely not a Burg but spicy, clover and cardamom flavors were surprisingly good. Bottle also nicely developed with time — 8 years ago
Smell on the wine is grass. Taste is minerals and lemons with clean tart finish. Yet as it warms up the taste is bolder with apples and a bit more buttery finish of a Chardonnay. A very pleasant wine. — 8 years ago

Squint smile. Love this riesling! Can't get enough of it. Sweet but balanced by acid with a zip on the tongue. — 9 years ago
Showing nice earthy character with dark fruit. Very well balanced and smooth finish. Bravo, Kurt! — 10 years ago
Domaine Henri Jayer Echézeaux 1988: Lush and silky, bursting with sweet black fruit and a commanding, complex perfume of Asian spice, musk, and minerals. Wines from the late, legendary Henri Jayer represent a singularly heightened benchmark for Burgundy and Pinot Noir. They are Led Zeppelin conquering the Garden in 1973 or Kurt Cobain rasping behind the stargazer lilies: pure glory, glorious purity. beetroot and menthol on the nose, velvet on the tongue, and exhilaration in the heart. Wines like these make even the most law-abiding drinker contemplate a life on the lam. — 11 years ago
So old and still so damn awesome. Perfect with shellfish course — 11 years ago
