A lot going on but still too young. The tannins are too powerful and intense for me. But there is a lot of dark fruit and complexity present. — 6 years ago
5th wine of the 1987 flight. Drinking great still! Great fruit and structure after all these years! — 7 years ago

I know, I know, but I like the sweetness! — 8 years ago
Surprise! Bordeaux like in the nose showing cassis, cedar and mocha. This was the best 65 that I have ever tasted and everyone's favorite of the flight. — 9 years ago
A touch of dust but still gangbusters on the fruit. Coke-y sweetness and a cool time machine of a wine — 9 years ago
enjoying with pork loin and apples — 9 years ago
Had this on our getaway too. Favorite champagne that I've had so far — 10 years ago
The Voerzio Capalot/Brunate 01 (mag) was the third WOTN for me. A perfect Voerzio expression. Hell of a nose and intensity/concentration. Much fresher and more vivid than a 09 I had last weekend. 01 seems to rock here again. Bright red stone fruit, dark roses and flowers, coffee bean, some mocha, tarry irony minerals. You kinda feel the old vines here. Wow. — 6 years ago
This was our second bottle. First was uninspiring and despite the 97pt RP rating, found it to be disappointing. The trick is to let it breathe for at least an hour to let the flavors develop. It is no Opus One but very satisfying with a juicy steak or just plain enjoyment! — 7 years ago
Very smooth, well balanced — 9 years ago

sharing with my good friend Buck! deep berry flavors, with rich tannins and mild oakiness. love this! — 8 years ago
2009 has made a wine that is more accessible now, feel free to open it up but make sure to give it plenty of air. The nose is generous, tar, roses, sappy red fruits and licorice, savory for sure. The palate is a little less generous and firm, but unlike 2010, more enjoyable now.

Definitely fading and very much tasted of hotdogs on the palate. The nose was still pretty interesting — 5 years ago
