Very interesting natural, skin/contact wine with a bit of effervescence from Emilia-Romagna — 7 years ago
Nose a bit funky like black olive, the syrah component to this wine really amped its complexity. A bit more brooding than full tempranillo crianza offerings, this has integrated notes of cedar and ripe red fruits, and that touch of earthy, savory, lightly pungent syrah in support.
Good complement to garlic toast, roasted peppers and grilled salchiccons. — 7 years ago
Burgundian elegance and complexity in Grenache form. Highly drinkable now with extremely fine tannins and balanced acidity. Such a happy wine. — 8 years ago
Amazing wine! Dark and fruity with a subtle touch of minerality. A must try!!! — 10 years ago
This was a really tasty wine. Nobile di Montepulciano is a new favorite variety. — 11 years ago
Big chewy wine with firm tannins. Dry fruit. — 11 years ago
A little acidic, but liked overall. Breathe at least 30 min. — 6 years ago
Smell like a Dr Pepper but with none of the additives (obviously). Skrate cherry cola. Cranberry and cutting acidity. Supple and generous but light and pristine at the same time. Vg — 8 years ago
A decent red, dry finish. — 9 years ago
A nice earthy red. Hit the spot with a Roman cacio e pepe pasta and rosemary lamb. — 9 years ago
2012 Matteo Correggia's 'Anthos' dry Brachetto, yum! A riper vintage but of such suppleness, lush rose petal & ripe juicy raspberry leaf. Dry, yet lovey. A #perfectpairing to pizza & rosemary flatbread. — 9 years ago
Peppery, gamey meat notes upon opening, reminiscent of a Rhone syrah. Black fruits like plum and blackberry on the palate, medium/light, smooth with a medium finish. — 10 years ago

This is a classic Montepulciano.. Plenty of fruit... Tannins and a hot mose...Needs to be open at least an hour before getting any light licorice and hints of dark cherry. Even so, not as complex or deep as the '05 Fanetti. Looking forward to another 3-4 years to try it again — 11 years ago
Needs air a little heavy — 12 years ago
Somm said that it would be more like a Rhône, bit more earthy + smooth/lighter — 7 years ago
Probably my favorite “cheap” Italian red. Though tannic, well balanced w dark rich fruit, high acidity, and 14% al. Earthy in a great way. Great nose. Long finish. Nice alone. Or drink w meats and/or robust pasta. $18. (One weird item: there is no vintage year on the bottle). — 7 years ago
Petillant, tart, juicy, unexpectedly rich for a natural. — 7 years ago
Dark blueberry flavors and aromas with chocolate, leather and graphite notes. Hints of vanilla and oak. Wonderfully balanced and smooth. Proof that a fine wine gets better with time. — 8 years ago
Reminiscent of Siena. Dusty musty nose. On the palate I get white pepper with a hint of anise in the back. Strawberry emerges on the finish with fairly balanced tannins. Quite good.

Botte 47. Phenomenally complex and constantly evolving. Initially savory with some animal fur, toasty honey (aged semillon) notes, slight star fruit. Then it evolved into dried flowers, mushroom, and dark fruit - reminded me of a young Barolo. Then black tea, green tea. Then strong dried spearmint, honeyed toasty complexity like the '81 Lopez de Heredia. Medium bodied with slightly elevated sparkling acidity. Not intense, but persistent on the palate. To borrow a phrase from Veronelli- It burrowed into my memory. I hope it made me forever better. — 10 years ago
deep, ripe and minty on the nose, with berry power foretelling a pure, lush palate that’s packed with berry flavors and light herbal shadings. Impressive and super tasty, especially given the price of $8 at Fresh Market. — 11 years ago
A bit tight and tart on opening but a couple hours later HOLY SHIT! Wow! Elegant Pinot with some black cherry and earthiness. Great wine ! — 12 years ago
