48% each Cab and Merlot.... balanced, long silky finish, perfect acidity and dark fruits... would seek out — 8 years ago
Tonight's wine is the 2010 Château Poujeaux Moulis-en Médoc. 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc.
On the nose is beautiful aromas of blackberry, bing cherry, plum, strawberry, black currant, ginger, vanilla, violets, musk, mushroom and earth.
On the palate is lush dark fruit, black cherry, blackberry, black currant, green bell pepper, herbs, spice, graphite, licorice and earth.
This is a full bodied wine with a smooth mouth feel, medium + acidity and medium + round tannins that are mouth coating and drying with a long clean fresh finish. I really like this wine, it was a real surprise for me. Maybe being a 2010 I should have expected more, but what a great surprise. Have a great weekend and stay safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 8 years ago
Nice blend (48 CS, 41 Mer, 11 CF). Opened it a little cold but it got much better as it warmed up. This wine has really mellowed out. The fruit still comes through and the pepper from the Cab has softened. This is a very nice wine. — 8 years ago

Pre-Labor Day festivities with friends.
Stinky barnyard, new leather, dried cherry, wicked finish, still years to go, more notes later...
48 Hour Update:
Nose has ripe cherry syrup, moist earth, dry tree bark, ripe black cherry, ripe blackberry, light star anise and roasted meats.
Palate has ripe black cherry, cherry jam, dusty blackberry, light cedar notes, smoked and charred meats, dry earth and a very sappy finish that runs very long. Tannins are in a beautiful spot right now, they do not get in the way of the beautifully complex flavors, but just a gentle complement. Future bottles can be 2021-23. — 7 years ago
#Italian wine omg!!!!!!! Wine 2005. Excellent Elegant. Cab franc 48% merlot 28% Cabernet Sauvignon 24% leather and tabaco signature for sure....love this wine 🍷 💯 % — 8 years ago
Founded in 1982, Roederer Estate sparkling wines reflect the cool, fog-shrouded Anderson Valley, home to their family-owned estate's 600 acres of vineyards. Tiny bubbles, nice mousse with toasty fruit aromas for this blend of 52% Chardonnay & 48% Pinot Noir. Flavors of apple and nutty pear, biscuit notes, creamy, great mouthfeel. Lingering finish ending with spicy mineral notes. Smooth and crisp! — 9 years ago
So many wines over the last 48 hours, it's hard to know where to begin. This is definitely a good spot, I assume! Tasted out of mag, this was singing! The 1990 slightly eclipsed this (tasted the night prior) however this was one of my top 5 for the evening. Thanks @Jeffrey Lew for sharing! — 9 years ago

One of our favorites, not always in stock. This year 48% Cabernet Sauvignon 40% Merlot 12% Syrah. — 11 years ago

Deep Ruby with youthful aromas of blue and black fruits with sweet spice and slight mineral character. The wine is a blend of 86% Cab Sauv, 7% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec & 2% Cab Franc from their estate-owned Napa Valley vineyards, aged 18 months in French (62%) & American oak (38%) (48% new). On the palate complex flavors, blackberry, plums and ripe cherry with sweet spice, oak and eucalyptus notes. Well balanced with good acidity and tannins still developing. Full-bodied, long finish ending with cacao and wood spice. Delightful! Tasting Sample! — 6 years ago
Today I wanted to try a Paso Robles wine and I have heard a bit about the Justin wines. I thought I would stop by my local store in Chicago and pick-up the 2015 Justin Justification, a Right Bank blend of 52% Cabernet Franc and 48% Merlot from Paso Robles.
Upon opening I immediately am getting dark fruit, black currant, black cherry, raspberry, tar, licorice, violet, like smoke and crushed gravel.
On the palate there is juicy black fruit, black cherry, black raspberry, black currant, green bell pepper, spice, cedar, graphite, toasty oak and a bit of dark soil.
This wine is medium to full bodied with a smooth supple mouth feel. There is medium + acidity and medium smooth tannin that leads right to a medium to long finish. An enjoyable wine that would go good with some hardy food. Have a great rest of your week and be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 8 years ago

Olivier Collin’s Champagnes have to be in the conversation of some of the absolute very best in the region. Les Roises, 48 months sur lattes, and coming from the oldest vines in the lineup, is an absolutely stunning expression of Chardonnay. It’s like drinking some of the best White Burgundy with bubbles. With dazzling complexity, riveting energy and an intensely aromatic bouquet, it wafts from the glass with rich caramelized stone fruits, red roses, smoke and stony minerals. The palate is expansive, dense and vibrant with fantastic midpalate depth and a stunningly long finish. I need more Ulysse Collin in my life 🔥 — 4 years ago
