On the nose, dark minerals, muted dark currants, fresh & dry dark florals, violets, dark cherries, strawberries and red licorice. On the palate; ripe bright fruits on first entry, lean & soft tannin structure, dry crushed rock powder, volcanic minerals, notes of a woody quality, leather & underbrush. Lean & ripe; dark cherries, cherries, blackberries, black raspberries, raspberries, touch of graphite, nice acidity, good structure with a beautiful, long finish. Barrel tasted the 2016 vintage at the Nickel & Nickel Entrecôte. Photos of look as you walk up out of their cellar and the old Nickel & Nickel truck. A blend of 67 CS 28% Syrah 5 PV this is made by Gilles nicault who is the winemaker who works will all the celebrity winemakers the fruit is from candy mountain and red mountain this wine has a good punt of dark cherry fruit blackberry fruit with dark chocolate and a good amount of earth loamy notes nice complexity on the nose. A thick and chewy wine on the tongue with ripe round tannins very balanced a bigger wine than the feather but just as nuanced. Finish 45+. Excellent+ — 12 years ago

Deep ruby color. Expressive nose of blackberries, blackcurrant, dark chocolate, and vanilla. Juicy dark fruit on the palate with oak spice and nice tannic texture. Probably drinking near or at its peak right now. Blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petite Verdot with 80% of the fruit coming from the To Kalon Vineyard. Vintage after vintage these guys knock it out of the park, 2011 is just sweet. Soft tanins, alc in check and balanced for the level, beautiful, crunchy red fruits with a crazy splash of plum bordering on pluot. Phenomenal value for the quality.
