Color is a peachy blush, like Cover Girl from the 90s. Very slight orange tint. I’m drinking this a day old, so fragrance isn’t so pungent: smells like outdoor seating at a white tablecloth restaurant with white flowers, with an elegant woman sitting two seats behind you wearing Crepe de Chine or Amal Goutal— something classic. Also has an undercurrent of Lemonheads (chemical citrus) smell as well. Taste is surprising, not acidic but still dry/not sweet— caramel-like, with peachy strawberry taste and a short finish. Kind of has the taste of a merlot inhabiting a rose. It’s really nice. I often don’t like rose because it’s too sweet or too dry or always somehow tastes too similar... but this one was special. Perhaps one of my faves of the summer. — 6 years ago

Peppery fruit and bit of funk — 6 years ago
So much richness and texture yet so drinkable. Phenolic and engaging. Subtleties abound, from white and orchard blossoms, citrus and stone fruits, beeswax, olive, radish, white pepper, tea leaves, stones. Approachable, elegant, yet cerebral enough to maintain conversation. — 6 years ago
Spot-on, classic, perfectly delineated Saint Joseph. This is the elegant and pretty side of Syrah. Flowing waves of violets and black pepper lift effortlessly out of the glass with bright red fruits. Mid palate is silk and nearly weightless with fine tannins. Low alcohol and neutral oak profile allow for a very pure expression. Hints of game on the finish with a lingering minerality and a fresh, spicy peppercorn character that would be lovely with a variety of meats and herbs. Beautiful wine that I look forward to revisiting over the next 2-3 years. — 6 years ago
Great with seafood! Dry. Mineraly. Great to sip with dinner. — 7 years ago
джем из садовой вишни, с нотами лакрицы и розового перца, оттенки сухой пыльной земли. Много остаточного алкоголя, кислотность низкая; полнотелое, можно еще подождать — 8 years ago
Old reliable. Always one of my favorite Rhones. Heavyish-medium body, heavy fruit, medium tannin, great food complement, mouthy. Even drinks well alone & is friendly enough not to overpower cheese or light hors d'oeuvre. — 9 years ago
Lovely flavour and nice bite — 9 years ago
Red berries, pinks, lavender. Truly in a nice place. — 10 years ago

Vintage 2004 - it’s quite comforting and energizing to drink a good bottle from my cellar after a hard day’s work. This special cuvee from old merlot vines exceeds my expectations: very rich and complex smell with tobacco, vanilla, morello cherries and a taste of minerals, beautiful ripened. What a great effort of grower Denis Lafon this is, it makes me só happy. #bordeaux #merlot #cotedeblaye #petitbordeaux Partnered it with a deer hamburger. — 6 years ago
A glass to end the night (maybe). Anxious to let this sit. Light, mineral, getting some herbs. Great so far ! — 7 years ago
Acidic. Dry finish. Minerally. Pairs well with food. — 8 years ago
A spring chicken. Tons of cassis and kirsch. Sappy forest and cocoa nib, crisp elegant finish. This suckers good for another 10-15. — 9 years ago
