Sandy bitter tannins as one expects from Barolo of this young age especially from a cooler year like 2012. Nose reminiscent of McBarens Plum Cake pipe tobacco which I smoked at University 45 years ago! Medium weight palate with some tar evident with earthy minerality Finishes with some austerity reflective of the vintage. — 7 years ago

Medium gold color. Not showing much in the glass in terms of effervescence and bubbles. A little oxidative on the nose. Notes of bread and a little caramel. Remembered that this came via an auction lot of various bottles so provenance unknown. Interesting that with air it got better as a wine, but as a champagne it was a bit lacking. — 8 years ago
