Grower champagne from Verzenay; also the chair of the Cave Co-op in Verzenay for some years, and JP's father before him (who has disgorged me wines still on lees back to 1928); is Verzenay Grand Cru though not stated; JP is a specialist pinot noir grower, with a slice of chardonnay; wine is boldly pinot power, nice tang on finish, fresh and delicious; taut, full, tons of yeast; great Christmas breakfast Champagne + fruit. — 10 years ago

Wow. Racy, deep, delicious... — 12 years ago
A funky swervey champagne Rose’ of all Pinot (8% still juice) where all the fruit is contained within a burlap sack of barley husk and smoked peaches. Muted dried fruits - dried orange peel, dried rose petals, dried wild strawberry, celery seed, fennel, and Parmesan. Tart berries only on the finish. So awesomely unexpectedly savory. — 5 years ago

Patrick Arnould passed over 2009 & 2010, but decided to make this 2011- a strange decision on paper. This all old-vine Pinot blanc de noir has it where it counts- in the bottle. Only 60 bottles for the USA, now 59. This seems lighter than past vintages, but still has that Nutella like hazelnut character that screams Verzenay. I will wait a year or two to have my next bottle for sure... But this long wine sure did go down easy last night! — 8 years ago
