Yummy. Would drink again. Great for a glass. — 8 years ago
Very nice opens well..velvet backend — 9 years ago
Black cherry pits, grape concentrate, cola, eucalyptus, graphite, bay leaf, tobacco, tar, tarragon, cedar. Excellent acid/smooth velvet tannin balance, juicy/silky texture, deceptively full bodied, long smoky/herbal slightly peppery finish. Decanting strongly recommended, texture and nose developed beautifully after 1 1/2 hours. — 10 years ago
Brooding monster the 2010, a first for me from Lokoya. Needed 2 hours to really express itself in my glass. Bold and rich with big fleshy tannins. Must try more! Thanks Larry. Chophouse group Monday — 11 years ago
Still a monster that will be angelic in 10 years. — 11 years ago
I love this red wine. To me, it goes well with maybe chili or taco salad. — 13 years ago
Smooth... Buttery finish. Full bodied flavor, but not overwhelming — 6 years ago
Dried cherries, Black Cassis, tobacco, saddle leather, pencil shavings, incense, chocolate ganache, mint tea, cigar box. Rounded acid, medium width smooth velvet tannins, medium bodied, juicy-satin texture, long complex smoky finish. Just entering its drinking window. 45 minute decanting recommended. — 7 years ago
One of my favorites, smooth and full bodied, off dry — 8 years ago
Deep garnet with amber rims, almost opaque. A little darker compared to the 82 CB next to it. Great old Bordeaux nose. Black fruit, pencil lead, plus some light notes of wood. Chewy in the mouth at first but over the night this goes to a velvet and silky place. The WOTN for me. Quieted down at the end of the night but gave us huge enjoyment, clearly outshining the 47 and 82 served with it. Tasting all these blind and then side by side over 4 hours is pretty awesome. — 8 years ago
No orange rim in the glas. The wine is dark red with a slight sign of its age. Leather on the nose, red fruits too. Tobacco, spice. The palate is phenomenal. Multidimensional. Long with an acid frame that goes for ever. Wide with fully integrated tannins made of velvet. Strawberry, blackberry, black currant. The finish is long and remains there floating in the air like the final high note of a musical masterpiece — 9 years ago
Great full body red. Goes great with Pork Tingas!! — 10 years ago
Huge. Phelps Insignia doesn't hit the ethereal heights of the best '70s Eisele's for me, but I find it more consistent. This '77 is a monster but still classic. — 11 years ago
Insanely good for the price — 11 years ago
Love ChP when it’s got some age on it. (1998) Totally different beast and this was spicy velvet. — 7 years ago
Very smooth with lots of berry. Good table wine for dinner — 7 years ago
Liquid velvet. Probably the most drinkable wine I have had in years. — 8 years ago
Another great Classic Wine Happy Hour in the books! Always a treat to have a designated day each month where guys can pull out some unique bottles!
Thanks @Will Adams for opening this! Gorgeous juice. A nod to how Caymus used to operate. Velvet like. Blue and blackberries, vanilla, cocoa, espresso. — 8 years ago
Dark and brooding tawny purple, opaque. Killer nose of smoked meat, bacon, white pepper, red plums and stone. Rich velvet texture in the mouth. Coats the palate. Performing very well right now. — 9 years ago
Bright red fruit flavors with lush tannin. This wine can enjoyed on its own, with friends, on a sunny day. Or with rich duck confit and bbq'd red meats. Can't beat the price. -wine batman — 10 years ago
