Almost like a tawny. Very good experience but past it's prime — 13 years ago
Very nice- flavorful but still a touch dry. Had at il Vino in Alphabet City, NYC. — 13 years ago

28$ SAQ Sangiovese. Simple and complex at the same time. Beats a Chianti any day, especially at that price. Will bonify in a few years. — 12 years ago

Sometimes you just get lucky...no-name MdA that was $5 on release, I had no idea whether it aspired to Valentino/Pepe heights or was simply content to just be red wine. But it certainly delivered. While not exactly On the overachiever category, I was pleasantly surprised that it's held up well over the years. Earthy yet light bodied (12.5% alc) it's got fruit and funk-- not great but still pretty damn good. Worth my having allocating the cellar space since it's release, and a nice home-alone wine with some pasta. — 12 years ago
