Earthy and gamey. A bit of VA. Better on day 2. Like do not love — 7 years ago
First time trying the '15s and it's as great as always. This is definitely a decent amount more brawny and ripe than the '14s but still identifiable as a Lapierre wine. That said, I'm still not the biggest fan of most of these '15's so far, they are too hot and ripe and don't really fit the profile of what I want from most Beaujolais. This is still pretty good on its own merits though. Day 1 it was closed and not giving up very much but on this morning, Day 2, it's come around and opened up quite a bit. Ripe, juicy strawberry and raspberry red fruit, tart rhubarb, wild violet, smoky gravel minerality, with a nice briny, almost gamey salinity underscoring things a bit. Nice medium (+) acid, medium (-) body with a great, soft texture. Just a touch of fine, supple tannic grip. There a bit of brett and VA but they're in balance rather than being a faulty distraction; the VA helps give a little extra lift, if anything. Will try another bottle after some more time has passed because even though it's good now it honestly still needs to come together a bit more; it seemed almost still slightly bottle shocked when I first opened it yesterday. If you're opening one soon I'd recommend giving it a little air to let it unfurl. — 7 years ago
High toned red fruit, some VA and lots of acidity. We decanted it to let it soften up a bit. Second time to drink Thévenet this month. Maximum drinking pleasure! His VV cuvée comes from a parcel with 70+ year old vynes and is aged in old oak barrels (that first belonged to Domaine Romanée-Conti), after a 'cool' (not cold) macération carbonique. — 9 years ago
Produced by a very small vineyard in Avondale, PA (yes, Pennsylvania!) this is an indulgent estate grown dry Rosato with depth and a lingering dry finish. Limited production. Excellent pairing with cheese and charcuterie. — 9 years ago
Two up, Two down as they say in VA. This wine blew my mind in that I had no idea VA produced anything this good. Tannins were still present, but not overwhelming. Bright Berry fruit on the tongue and a very deep nose. Medium color. A great wine to lead the charge for VA winemaking. — 9 years ago

Superb Amontillado, quite rare in Australia — 11 years ago
Beautiful, soft, deep and with some lovely sharpie marker VA. — 12 years ago
Yum, red forest fruits, spice, tea, nice tannins and a long finish, but I don’t think it has reached the 2010 levels — 7 years ago

Smelled dusty! Nice fruit and oak presence. Will give the other in my cellar a little more time. For VA, ill drink this any day! — 7 years ago
Easily one of the best wines produced in VA! — 7 years ago
Bright vivid fruits drum blueberries to tropical fruit. With a deep earth citrus finish. Was better after being open for 3 days. — 8 years ago
Clear deep orange in the glass. Big bosomy nose of white flowers and candied orange peel. Full rich body with medium plus acidity. Lilies and orange peel lead on the palate. Medium finish with a hint of wet stone. Great on its own, but lives for food. — 8 years ago
Smooth, medium bodied cab. Long legs. Similar to a finer paso/mid-level Sonoma pinot. Very nice pre-dinner drink. — 9 years ago
