Very complex and intense. Nose has deep blackberry, intensely stoney, gravelly minerality, bloody beef, new leather, and some Indian spices. A compact Mike Tyson uppercut to the palate. Deeply fruity but not in a jammy way, with moathcoating minerality, huge body, but a velvety texture. Exceptional. Will get even better over the next 5 years. Was great with mesquite grilled lamb chops.
UPDATE: After two nights under a VacuVin closure, nose still complex and inviting, and on the palate much more clingy, dark, iodiney minerality showing. What a wine! — 9 years ago

Great deal for a great wine. Happy middle between extremes of dry and sweet yet gives your palate a hint of many great flavors from both sides of the scale. — 11 years ago

Excellent for steak. Structured and firm, but extremely drinkable — 11 years ago
Has punch, not really a jab, more like an uppercut, medium rare finish, the rope is red and smooth but not cotton smooth but like unwashed and unused cotton smooth like I've used it a lot and I need to wash it , the feeling tastes like endless opportunities like star gazing in New York with mixed feelings because you can't see the stars and your red wine is actually in a white wine glass — 9 years ago
