Delicious! Rich and dark Pinot. — 11 years ago
After being uncorked for a day this wine is utterly ... Delectable! Tannins disappeared, and the smooth red berry tastes were present. Still not worth $25-30. More like $17-20. — 11 years ago
Pleasant wine, probably most expensive of evening at the Wine Society Dining Club dinner at Drapers Hall. Slightly gong off — 11 years ago
Classic argentine presentation. Needs time to open up once uncorked. — 11 years ago
Waited over a year to drink this wine.. Bought it in Paris during our honeymoon and was slated to be uncorked on our first wedding anniversary... Until, that is, Vivian came along! Good things come to those who wait! — 12 years ago

Delicious. Quite sweet and vanilla like. Perfect — 8 years ago
Full bodied, lots of fruit. Tastes like a robust zin. Simple, elegant and a great bargain wine for everyday occasions. — 9 years ago
Dry, fruity wine from The Wine Society. Usual fantastic value. Great accompaniment to Chicken Kiev. — 9 years ago
Controversial French winemaker Louis-Antoine Luyt delivers a #pais wine from 100+ year-old vines from Cauquenes in the Maule Valley. Funky and reduced after uncorked, a much-needed aeration (in a water jug, mind you) brought to life a juicy, tense and extremely refreshing wine. The liquid was totally opaque, bringing a new meaning to the words "unfiltered & unfined". I remember a couple of years ago having a heated debate with another Frenchman who was making a documentary about Luyt who told me how wines like this battle against the homogenisation of flavours. Not for everyone. You can find it with Louis/Dressner if in the USA. — 10 years ago

2012 - Wine Society £8.95 — 11 years ago
This is an excellent Rioja. Rich, rounded and full of fruit with a lovely vanilla on the nose. Thin? No way. — 11 years ago
Great wine . Got it from the vineyard direct. Kept it for a few months . It was ready as soon as uncorked with deep color balanced dryness and perfect acidity. Recommend it ! — 12 years ago
Yes. A descent cab with a fruit forward taste and fairly smooth tannins. — 13 years ago

@David L @Carl Fischer @Ron R @Joe Lucca @Kirk Alexander Christine & I had dinner with my buddy Kirk and his beatific wife Veronica. I uncorked this one since it had been such a reliable pour the last time I opened it. However, in New York it had disappointed all of us. I am back to being disappointed. This is the type of bottle that you have to open by itself and not showcase it against any other as it will swiftly retreat into the shadows. Light on the palate, super short finish. This bottle came in dead last tonight. I can't believe the other that I opened impressed me that much that night. I don't do this often but I will knock it down to an 8.9. — 9 years ago

Great aromatics with jammy fruit, strawberry compote, boysenberry and baking spice on the nose. Similarly on the palate, plenty of jammy fruit, candied strawberry, nutmeg and cinnamon, with very little tannin and a great lingering finish. Very easy to drink. — 10 years ago
2013. Fresh, lively. Superb bargain. — 11 years ago
I am most the way through a case of this and it seems now the wind is just reaching a nice balanced phase. — 11 years ago
Took some time to open, but great with food after an hour uncorked. Dark cherry and a lasting finish. Let's buy more! — 11 years ago

This was the third of 4 reds we had for our main course last night. A Wine without a fuss from the Wine Society bought in 2015. Another dinner guest often buys this in restaurants and loves it, as do I; in fact I like most Pomerol wines Good, medium tannins, very fruity excellent with beef wellington 😁 — 8 years ago
