Fabulous. Went great with Ham, grilled carrots and a cauliflower pasta dish. Would go great with Bolegnese. Buy a case if you are lucky to find under $30 a bottle — 7 years ago

Amazing cab from Moon Mountain in Sonoma. Smooth, fresh, despite the 15.2% alcohol. — 5 years ago
This is the 2009 vintage.
Brick edges in glass.
Nose has petroleum, port, raisin, allspice.
On the palate: Still shows some high alcohol burn. Raisin, brandy, mushroom, oak, clove.
In glass 20 mins:
Fruit now making an appearance on the nose: Dried fruit (prune, apricot, maybe cranberry). The edgy, port/brandy notes are stronger on the palate. Serious enjoyment!
Since my storage is less than ideal, I'm glad I opened this one! Under ideal storage temperature, I expect there would be a lot of shelf life left. — 6 years ago

Oh my! I bought this mature beauty 6 and a half years ago from JR and then I let it mature even more! I didn’t realize what I had laid down and I opened on spaghetti and meatball night. This wine is SPECTACULAR. I’ve never had a Sangiovese that was so beautifully integrated with floral, oak and mint and so many other flavors I can’t pinpoint. I usually find Sangiovese angular, hard and acidic. This wine is simply gorgeous. TY JR. You blew me away! — 3 years ago
