Yes it is Noon and yes the wines are big and the alcohol is a bit high. BUT the wine is extremely well balanced. Great acidity and a great representation of Langhorne Creek. — 9 years ago
Notes of cherry, and some plum up front. Let it air out for a bit, or use an aerator, before drinking — 9 years ago
I wanted a buttery Chardonnay. This is that. I am extremely pleased by the straightforwardness of the label. It gets a lot of points for existing and telling me what it is. I am sort of bored and alone so I am barely enjoying this wine, but that is not the wine's fault. I drank half a glass and am about to use the the rest in a pan sauce. I'm sautéing a piece of cod, a marginally enjoyable fish. It is not fair of me to be experiencing this wine in the stultifying way that I am. The taste lives up to the description, and there is only a slight giveaway that the wine is chipped. It was twelve dollars, so I don't care. Thank you. — 10 years ago
Surprisingly smooth...hardly any pepper and spice like other full bodied Barossa. If anything this wine reminded me of Mclaren Vale. The fruit flavor is typically black and blue...like a prize fighter after twelve rounds. — 10 years ago

1958 vintage. From Jay. 1958 Bartolo Mascarello - Brief Note from Galloni Historical Retrospective Held in London April 26, 2016. From 1.9L format. Very light rose colour. Typical nose of crushed roses and violets mixed with ancient saddle leather and a hint of very old crushed mint. The wine still posses good fruit although it is clearly in the twilight of its life. Some medicinal elements on the palette but these are enjoyable and well integrated. Otherwise the palette is both ethereal and elegant. It has both poise and elegance and remains a gorgeous expression of Nebbiolo despite its maturity. Fraises sauvages, raspberries, and hints of slightly unripened pomegranate blend together seamlessly. The finish is smooth with medium length. I have been fortunate enough to have this wine on three separate occasions in the last twelve months and my notes have been consistent. 96/100. Drink Now. — 9 years ago

The 2011 Les Lézardes from René Rostaing is really a terrific bottle of syrah, which strikes me a bit as a theoretical blend of Côte-Rôtie and Saint Joseph. The wine is deep, pure, and at twelve percent alcohol, bright and vibrant on both the nose and palate. The bouquet is a fine and youthful blend of black raspberries, grilled meat, dark soil tones, pepper and a bit of lavender in the upper register. On the palate the wine is pure, complex and quite full-bodied, with a great core of fruit, superb focus and balance, a fair bit of ripe tannin and excellent length and grip on the very long and still quite primary finish. Just because this lovely wine does not carry the Côte-Rôtie appellation on the label, do not think that this is an easy-going wine made for early consumption, as this is deep, structured and serious. It has to be one of the great bargains in northern Rhône syrah in the entire world and is very much worthy of adding to the cellar, if one can cross paths with the wine, as only six hundred cases are produced. 2020-2045+. - Jon Gilman — 10 years ago
Soft, silky, it had a little smokiness to it. Although I felt it was more fruity. — 11 years ago
Syrah/Cabernet blend (I think), three years in oak. Twelve years old and showing strong. — 11 years ago

Twelve years in the bottle, 4 hour decant, and still too soon. The purple ring on the glass would make you think she's fresh out of the barrel. There is a high dose of heat that can clean your sinuses, finally revealing black cherry, cola, oak, licorice, in a big tannic structure, cough syrup that leaves a sting. It's definitely a ride, layered and complex. But probably will open my next bottle in 5 more years. — 9 years ago
Texture. That's what makes this wine so damn enjoyable. It's loaded with dark chewy fruit and a hint of dusty chocolate. Round and smooth and voluptuous. The nose isn't amazing and it's not an intellectual wine, but bloody hell it's nice and keeps calling for another sip. It even carries the high alcohol pretty well (but maybe avoid it on a hot day). And it's $12! Crazy. Except that it's hard to get hold of. — 10 years ago
Gave my auntie a sample pack of twelve wines and she swore by this one. I have to agree. For under twenty bucks this wine is terrific value. No need to give a detailed talk about its flavour, just crack a bottle with some pizza and/or pasta and you'll see what I mean. — 10 years ago

Flowers and fruit. Oh when will I allow a lovely wine to age? Jamais! This remark will upset Oregon Pinot lovers but it tastes very Santa Maria-esque Pinot -y. — 8 years ago
