At thirty clams retail this is just crazy good and regionally true Rioja. Get all you can. — 9 years ago
So many levels. The true barnyard on the nose as it opens up to its true identity. Will slowly evaporate your pallet, causing you to focus on the aged cassis with a good dose of tobacco with subtle chocolate. We gave it about an hour and a half to open up and we enjoyed every last drop. YUM!! — 10 years ago
Cathy Corison is a true artist. One of the most enjoyable bottles of my days - deep berries, dusty, tremendous balance and structure. One for the ages. — 10 years ago
WOTN - am amazing 89. Our group tasted thru first and second growths from this vintage and only now are they approaching their true potential. Classic cedar lead pencil cigar box left bank. Depth of fruit and a haunting finish. Not many can make wine like this. A legend. — 11 years ago

I have had a Chardonnay from Paragon Vineyard before, and this reminds me of it, quite a lot. It’s a SIP certified sustainable growing site and winemaker Christian Roguenant gets a nice full mouthfeel from the lees and the oak.
The straw-colored wine shows quite a bit of minerality on the nose, to be expected from Edna Valley grapes. The wet rocks and lime aromas are always a pleasure, as the are here. On the palate, there are tropical tones and plenty of citrus along with the beautiful oak effect - the wood is used in a very tasteful way. I vacillate between liking oaky Chardonnays and those with none. This one hits in the middle of the range and could be my favorite - for a while, anyway. — 10 years ago
Impressive wine! Decanted it for 30 min. Checked it at opening again at 30 min but it opened up around 50 min. Full and complex with strong black fruit, cocoa, and oak spice. This is still a baby in terms of maturity. As always Insignia delivers as true as a Bordeaux first growth would, which was their model from inception. — 11 years ago
Buttery, light toast, nutty on the nose. Low to medium acidity, hints of citrus. — 12 years ago
V09. Very nice port. Candied black cherry nose. Rich, thick blackberry fruit. Hint of dryness, within the cloying sweet finish. Very good. — 8 years ago
Tonight’s wine club gathering was extra special due to the fact that each selection put forward for tasting had a unique and special story behind it; each wine had a “near and dear” element to it that made tasting it all the more enjoyable while the stories surrounding them were told.
This selection and vintage holds special meaning for me. The memories associated with it are truly sweet. So elegant and beautiful; once the funk blew off after about an hour in the decanter the true nature of the wine blossomed. Savory notes of molasses, plum, and fig married with the cool, intoxicating aromas of eucalyptus and mint laced in dark, sweet, dusty fruits. So delicious. I’m thankful I have a few more of these in the cellar. — 9 years ago

My favorite nightly habit. A true jewel for its price tag $19 most places and you will definitely think it's twice the price with its berry taste and rich texture. — 11 years ago
True Margaux aromas plus animal scent. Loved it! — 12 years ago
True story: at some point in this bottle's 23 years of aging, the cork sank into the bottle. When I saw that that had happened, I thought I'd lost this treasure. I thought it had to be bad, but nope. This legendary wine withstood the test of time! Even without a cork intact, the wine stayed really, really good. Thank goodness and yummmmm-y! — 13 years ago

A true legend. Everything you could ever want in a Bordeaux and had the finish been a little more pronounced it would be a prefect wine. — 8 years ago
