V09. Very nice port. Candied black cherry nose. Rich, thick blackberry fruit. Hint of dryness, within the cloying sweet finish. Very good. — 6 years ago
I love that the California Cabs are aging so well! This 17-year beauty is a true expression of the Heitz Martha's Vineyard. Has soft fruit with the herbal, green tea, smoke & muted eucalyptus, paired wonderfully with a grilled strip Tyne roasted mushrooms! Life is good! — 7 years ago
I have had a Chardonnay from Paragon Vineyard before, and this reminds me of it, quite a lot. It’s a SIP certified sustainable growing site and winemaker Christian Roguenant gets a nice full mouthfeel from the lees and the oak.
The straw-colored wine shows quite a bit of minerality on the nose, to be expected from Edna Valley grapes. The wet rocks and lime aromas are always a pleasure, as the are here. On the palate, there are tropical tones and plenty of citrus along with the beautiful oak effect - the wood is used in a very tasteful way. I vacillate between liking oaky Chardonnays and those with none. This one hits in the middle of the range and could be my favorite - for a while, anyway. — 8 years ago

My favorite nightly habit. A true jewel for its price tag $19 most places and you will definitely think it's twice the price with its berry taste and rich texture. — 9 years ago
An absolute beauty. True benchmark wine. Not many can say they've enjoyed a '96 Haut-Brion, and thanks to a great friend-I have. — 9 years ago
True story: at some point in this bottle's 23 years of aging, the cork sank into the bottle. When I saw that that had happened, I thought I'd lost this treasure. I thought it had to be bad, but nope. This legendary wine withstood the test of time! Even without a cork intact, the wine stayed really, really good. Thank goodness and yummmmm-y! — 11 years ago
Always a treat to drink legendary wines like this one. Served blind in the garden at my parents house, the settlements weren’t perfect, but still the true quality shone though. Developed dark berries, partially dried and framed by bitter chocolate notes and pronounced minerality. Great finish, broad and self confident. In a perfect spot already. — 6 years ago
Tall grass. Fruit forward. Slight spice finish. Medium body, smooth. Would buy again — 6 years ago
Favorite zin! Dry & spicy — 7 years ago
Stunner. True complexity in the nose. Can't say enough about the state of the tannins right now. Makes you pucker and instantly crave more — 8 years ago
Super-weird bottle. Mid-shoulder, crumbly cork, and the colour of freshly pressed strawberry juice - extremely pale as slightly cloudy! The immediate scent was quite off-putting but after 30 minutes it stormed back! Scents of autumn mulch, burning vine roots, sour cherries, and raspberry compote. A weird sourness and heady acidity on the front of the palette but it still keeps together well. Clearly badly kept but still really interesting to drink! A true testament to The quality of Mouton under the stewardship of the late Baron. I wonder if this is what some of the better kept bottles might be like in 100 years' time!? — 8 years ago
Great wine, complex and true to style. — 9 years ago
2011 vintage. Was expecting an over powering true Napa Cab but was very subtle. Fruit forward with low acidity and tannins. — 9 years ago

This was a very nice vintage. True to its French roots! Very good representation of Bordeaux. A real treat. — 8 years ago
This was amazing. Such great black fruit and notes of tar and cedar. This is a true Grand Vin. Briefly decanted to settle and didn't lose much. Still some slight acids and tannins. Ultra smooth. — 9 years ago
True Caymus classic. Very fruit forward. Many years left in them but not tonight — 9 years ago
A true treat. Old. No effervescence. But has some cut and spine still. Long finish. A St. Francis hotel liquor store sticker on it. Drinking history. — 9 years ago
Buttery, light toast, nutty on the nose. Low to medium acidity, hints of citrus. — 10 years ago

Tasted at the new Geyserville tasting room. What a beautiful setting. The new silver oaks are really terrific wines. I particularly liked this 2014 Alexander valley. It was so true to its Cabernet roots and should glide effortlessly in the cellar for many many years — 6 years ago
