Woah best of tonight's trio, gracefully aged. Everything I want in vintage Bordeaux. Leather, bell pepper, hints of pepper and spice. Elegant finish. Oh lord this bottle went too fast — 8 years ago

The final wine in a trio of Betz wines tasted with assistant winemaker Louis Skinner, the Pére De Famille Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 is seamless and well-crafted. The nose is a gathering storm of blackcurrant, blueberries, milk chocolate, and violets. Structured and spectacularly dense in the mouth with saturating, tooth-staining layers of black and blue fruit, a touch of Welches grape jelly, anise, and sweet tobacco. This finish is lengthy, velvety, wonderful. 14.5% ABV | Sample — 10 years ago

My new local fave for special occasions. $32. I'm not good at snooty reviews so won't try to tell you what it tastes like. — 11 years ago

Well-knit. Flavors a bit purple for my taste but solidly undergirded by mineral. Hard to read the structure but could be great fun in 4-5 years. — 9 years ago
Great value for money. Bloomed a bit early — 10 years ago

Delectable archivists, this wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon from Jerusalem Hills and Syrah from Galilee.
Goes well with Beijing style dumplings and spikes up the heat when paired with condiments of chili oil, dried pepper flakes, chopped fresh garlic, chopped cilantro, and black vinegar. — 9 years ago
Nice, fun, aromatic, white. — 9 years ago
What a great vintage this turning out to be...the hot, dry(er) summer brought a nice balance of sugar and acid. This was wisely Merlot heavy (60%), lending to cherry notes. However, the Merlot is sturdy alto that allows the PV and CF to harmonize their tenor cords. This was from some delightful place between Rhone and the Right Bank :) Well done and a Superb Value at 22$ — 9 years ago
Vinho com um excelente custo/benefício. Muito bom — 10 years ago
2006 vintage from Coravin. A sumptuous beast of a wine. Yes it's big on flavour, the body is full and the tannins are big, ripe and juicy. But it's totally balanced and the sweet love lingering finish is alluring. Notes of roast meats, horse leather and garrigue savoury flavours. Could easily be mistaken for a CDNP from a great producer. This wine cries out to be drunk...So I finished it! — 10 years ago
Fantastic, rich wine. Beautiful aroma & flavour. — 10 years ago
Nose with plum, cherry, strawberry, and tannins. Extremely smooth with nutty berry flavor with a tobacco finish. Also a few tannins. Almost a perfect cab frank. One of the best tasted! — 12 years ago

This sweet Bordeaux pushes all the right buttons for a wine style that wants to be known as “more than dessert.” The rich golden hue beckons, while the nose of candied fruit is draped in a cloak of minerality. The palate certainly wants to be more than an after-dinner afterthought. The viscous mouthfeel, bracing acidity and mineral-driven flavor profile form a trio unlikely to be caught traveling together in most sweet wines. These have been doing it for centuries. — 7 years ago
