A blend of grapes, including Cabernet and Shiraz. Mellow, a tad sweet, and delicious. Great for that everyday glass of red wine that's good for the heart! — 13 years ago
I had the great pleasure or working across the road from these folks on this vintage, and this wine definately shows the skill of the winemakers. Elegant, velvety, spicy and fresh. I'm surprised how well it's drinking after such little time in the bottle. I can't wait to taste higher grade Syrah from this vintage in Hawke's Bay. — 8 years ago
Bright, rustic, with substance and great structure. Treat yourself -- big, fat ribeye at med rare to medium, nothing but a touch of salt, pepper, Rosemary and good hot bread and butter on the side. The trinity — 10 years ago
Blackbird Red Table Wine, not Pinto Noir — 10 years ago
Who says cheap wine can't be good? Smoothe, balanced, and potent without turning you off. Definitely a staple for standard wine! — 10 years ago
Cherry, baking spice, black pepper, potpourri on the nose. Beautiful garnet color. Strawberry, cherry, cedar box, tobacco flavors. Nice acidity, and young, so needs a little time to let the oak flavors mellow out. Very food friendly. — 10 years ago
Beautiful balance. — 11 years ago
Very fruity zin, most fruity zin I have ever had. Very good! — 11 years ago
Not too dry, not too sweet. Decent table wine for guest dinner — 13 years ago
Citrus, pineapple, green apple & melon, tropicals with white & yellow florals on the nose. Nice round texture, good chalkiness & soft minerals, wet stones, guava, pineapple, green apple, underripe melon, white peach, nectarine with nice delicate spice on the long finish. — 9 years ago
Really nice Cali cab. The 2012 is showing well. Raspberry and blackberry on the tongue enveloped by vanilla and coconut on the finish. Lovely tennis completed the trinity to give this wine balance. Gotta love the right amount of fruit, tannins, and oak. — 9 years ago

Lovely tart red fruited beauty, with wonderful herb notes, Pinot Noir, Poulsard, Trousseau, the Holy trinity? — 11 years ago
Purple. Inky. No transparency ate the meniscus . Spicy nose. Bitters, toffee. Not fruit forward at all. Plum, fig. Full bodied and mildly tannic with coffee, leather and dark black fruit holding the spice together. Exceptional. 92 — 12 years ago

I had this with a pizza in the company of the Cals...the wine completed the trinity required for a superb evening.... it has a superb bouquet coupled with mild but yet flavours which encourage a pause while consuming Bacchus this is a good one for our followers — 8 years ago
