This one is fun as a low-tannin, fruit-flavored Rhone blend. Here are some reviews:
Winemaker's Notes:
Angove Famliy Crest 2013 Grenache/Shiraz/Mourvedre is bright ruby red with rich aromas of candied cherry, anise and spice with a hint of vanilla. Enticing flavors of cherry, toffee and plum follows on the palate with a soft, full and rounded finish. Drink now until 2020.
Critical Acclaim:
Good hue; luscious and fruit-sweet (not sugar-sweet); an attractive wine that will be most enjoyable with pasta dishes to trim that sweetness back a bit.

Great wine. Mellowed after opening. Great wine to trim the tree! — 9 years ago
Perfumed, pristine, fresh, varietal apricot, nut, ginger and body; focused, nicely trim and very long on the palate. Deeply satisfying. — 10 years ago

Fave grenache, bar none. Lean, trim. — 9 years ago
I had a hate-hate relationship with Grenache for a long time (alcohol, lack of acid, lots of high-extraction style winemaking), but this is one of the wines that turned me around on the variety when @Caleb Ganzer served me a bottle a few years ago. Red fruited, meaty, peppery, with plenty of red flower perfume. This is clean, low-intervention winemaking, with only a little appealing pinch of VA. There's a slightly chubby texture, but trim acid keeps the wine moving forward. Somehow this wine would appeal to the Burgundy drinker, as well as the California Pinot drinker, and you know, people who like Grenache. A screaming deal at $25-ish. — 9 years ago

Dardanelos - 100% tempranillo from Spain-DOC Ribera del Duero. It is aged for 4 months in French oak barrels. Is a nice purple with a oink trim. In the nose is fresh and fruity woth hint of banana and cherries, sweet violets and floral notes. In the palate is very nice, rounded and balanced. You can hint herbs and fresh fruits. Easy drink wine and great for the value! — 9 years ago
08 barbaresco $30 @ Charlie's. Complex and elegant. Medium bodied. Easily overpowered by aged cheeses & olives. Best on its own. 1 hour in decanter made a big difference. Trim the tree party w wife & kids. — 9 years ago
Really unexpectedly trim and bright. Easy drinking w soft tannins and surprisingly bright light red and black fruits. I expected a much fuller, richer and more powerful wine for the vintage but it was absolutely lovely. — 10 years ago

Intense purple color. Nice earthiness on the nose. Acid for sure. Fit and trim. A summer wine I think — 8 years ago
