Blanc de Blancs, no dose, l'Eclapart. Wine geek trifecta. Nose is a symphony, wet earth, mineral, salty, tree bark? Fascinating aromas. Palate is dry, forceful, yeasty and tangy. Long and intense. Concentrated and intense.
Day 2 Update - Yeasty somewhat broad and mineral nose. Some brioche as well. Nice. Palate is razor sharp with terrific precision and minerality. Really lovey delineation of flavors. Great. Delicate and complex yet forcefully dry. Incredible. — 9 years ago
The body is leaner than you'd like. However, it has all the characteristics of Haut Brion. Creamed; blackberries, black raspberries. Black plum, tobacco, leather, burnt ambers, wet black earth, dried coffee grounds, stoney gravel, decayed flowers and a touch of mushroom. It starts well but doesn't have the polished finish one expects from Haut Brion. From the 1993-95 trifecta tasting, the only disappointment. But, it's still Haut Brion! Out of 375ml. — 9 years ago
Bold. Awesome! Not too big. — 9 years ago
Ayala Perle D'Ayala Brut Millèsime 2002 is an elegant blend of 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir from the Grand Cru regions of Le Mesnil-Sur-Oger, Chouilly and Cramant. It's been aged on the lees for eight years, giving it nice balance and weight against a tensile acid spine. Golden delicious apple, lemon zest and shortbread form that wonderful trifecta of aromas that is not unlike a freshly-baked apple pie. I especially like that the finish is very long, and very persistent. — 9 years ago
This 2015 Sauvignon Blanc is pale straw in color, clear, and crisp. It possesses a trifecta of qualities – herbal, herbaceous, and citrusy – accompanied by tropical nuance. I’m particularly fond of the tangy grapefruit and lime coupled with melon and passionfruit. This wine is very young, very green, with regard to herbaceousness and fruit, and I mean that in a good way. By the way, Villa Maria, you had me at zesty acidity. I could drink this all day. In fact, I may just do that. — 10 years ago

I definitely preferred Juliet. It is softer and a little bit more elegant. 'Romeo is a great daily drinker. Pop & pour type on f wine. My favorite line from Ed Snider is definitely his guest cottage, reserve and estate. That it is perfect trifecta!. — 8 years ago
Big fruit forward and dry. Good alone or with beef. Probably crazy good with brick oven pizza. Thank you @nvwineandcigar #wine — 9 years ago
If you ever find yourself in Tuscany, across from the Antinori winery, is this charming vineyard which also produces olive oil, and cheese. Holy trifecta!
This wine is light, yet very satisfying. Of course it pairs well with fruit and cheese! — 9 years ago

The Trifecta is complete with this big Cabernet Sauvignon from Howell Mountain (which is officially my new favorite appellation!). The volcanic soils of Howell make the vines struggle for nutrients and water and pack the grapes with density and intensity. Deep purple color and all the fun black fruits and a long lingering finish. This one is blended with 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Merlot. This was my favorite of the three big Hall Cabs. Given time it will be epic. — 8 years ago
