Deep ruby. Powerful black/blue fruit, incense, Indian spice and vanilla aromas on the expressive nose, with a smoky mineral quality adding urgency. Offers sweet, densely packed boysenberry, cherry cola and spicecake flavors that spread out steadily on the palate, picking up an exotic hint of star anise and a touch of licorice on the back half. Lush, broad and seamless in character, finishing with superb energy, sharp delineation and smooth, even tannins that add structure and subtle grip. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, March 2019) — 6 years ago
This went perfect with enchiladas and Mexican food. The spicy notes complimented the flavors perfectly.

Great energy compared to the 2012 from same vineyard. — 9 years ago
Peppery and chalky. Dark cherry and medium tannins. Much better after it opens up and the fruit comes forward. — 10 years ago

Medium bodied. Ever present oak and wood on the palate that's touched up by dark, leafy greens and bramble. Soft in the mouth.
Some air unlocks some of the hidden tannins and some more fruit comes through. — 8 years ago
On the nose smells almost like a sauv blanc. Herbal & green fruit & citrus on the nose. Taste tropical & velvet on the palate — 9 years ago
We opened and finished this on Saturday. Four days later, the bottle still smells like heaven. — 9 years ago
Fancy dry fizz. — 10 years ago
Does an amazing job of walking the tightrope of new/old world, fleshy fruit (pear, quince, pomelo), with just enough acid to keep it in balanced. A bit of nutty bitterness at the finish-- what it needed..,. — 11 years ago
wonderful Chateauneuf, full bodied & reasonably priced — 11 years ago

A surprising find! A Zinfandel I like in a location I love. Most interesting small winery I've found in ages🍷 — 10 years ago
This wine was a great surprise, great value for the $13.99 price! A little tropical and earthiness on the nose, but on the palate it really came alive - crisp with a bit of effervescence, good acid and retaining the fruit flavor. Great with Indian food or any spicy food or shellfish. — 10 years ago

This is supposedly 97% Garnacha, not Tempranillo. Wonderfully smooth and flavorful. Best Christmas wine so far. Started with $10 Don David, and now up to this for $20. Tonight a big jump to $60 CDP! — 5 years ago
